In rare cases patients with hypersensitivity to botanicals of the Compositae family may experience an allergic reaction after oral or topical administration
of Traumeel®, including anaphylactic reaction.
Warning:
Do not apply Traumeel® ointment or gel over large surfaces of the body.
In a placebo-controlled double blind study of 73 patients with acute ankle sprains, the effectiveness of Traumeel® ointment was compared to that of a placebo ointment. Treatment was administered seven times in a two-week period and all patients received electrotherapy. Improvement
in joint mobility was noted in both groups. The Traumeel® group recovered more rapidly than the placebo group in reduction of swelling and pain upon movement, as well as in joint mobility.
